We modified the DataSet, Update, Insert and Delete controls so that multiple controls instances with the same connection string share a single database connection. The standard version creates and opens a new connection object for each control instance on the page.

We added extra validation on Inserts and Updates; these validation checks ensure that these operations play nice with any ASP.NET page validators without any intervention needed on the part of the developer.

We added built in capability's to retrieve the Identity value of newly inserted database records
