If for no other reason, it's important to invest in going green for the PR value alone. While there is, of course, legitimate science behind this movement, even if that isn't motivation enough, there is the essential aspect of being perceived as up to date. Investing in making your business more environmentally friendly shows that your business has the wherewithal to make a difference, and isn't out of step. For instance, Empire Carpet was the business my office chose to work with in getting new carpeting for some of our office space precisely because of its environmentally oriented products and old carpet recycling program. Being on top of environmental concerns can give an edge to your business over others who aren't making an effort or aren't even acknowledging this essential aspect. Recently, a friend was telling me how her office chose to work with one printing company over another because of their environmentally aware approach to conducting their business. So if this concern seems like something would only be a drain or too much trouble than it's worth, think again.
