Reflections on Venture Capital in 2010

The year 2010 has been a tumultuous one. With the economic recovery on its way, venture capital has been taking different directions this year. With 2010 drawing to a close, it's always great to reflect back on the year with regards to the trends in venture capital.

Terry Opdendyk is the founder and general partner for Onset Ventures, which invests in information and medical technologies. In a recent interview, Opdendyk uncovered his findings about the past year. He claimed that he saw a decreasing amount of venture capital money being available. In addition, Opdendyk observed that many of the companies he funded were repeat entrepreneurs. In fact, more than eighty percent of them were repeat entrepreneurs and the majority of them had worked with Onset Venture before.
